Senior Educational Psychologist Parenting - Early Years

Overview

Cardiff Parenting & Play Services is led by a Principal Educational Psychologist and offers a psychology‑led early years parenting service across Cardiff. The service is recognised by the Parent-Infant Foundation as a specialised Parent‑Infant Relationship team and works with parents who are pregnant or have an infant or early years child.

• Manage and lead an early years psychology‑informed parenting service for parents of babies, infants and early years children across Cardiff.
• Train staff, supervise, monitor and evaluate the interventions by the Parents Plus team based on evidence‑based psychological approaches and theories.
• Contribute to evidence‑based delivery through research and training for Early Help.
• Improve outcomes for early years infants and children by promoting the confidence and capacity of parents to impact their child’s early development, wellbeing, emotional and mental health.
• Develop, implement and review local and national parenting policies, procedures and inter‑agency working and reflect these in the services offered through Early Help.

• Suitable qualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologist.
• Detailed knowledge of psychological theory and experience of applying theory to casework.
• Portfolio of recent relevant continuing professional development.
• Leadership and management experience.
• Experience of direct work with parents.
