Hours and duties

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm during term time. An additional 1 hour per week will be paid for planning and preparation time. Hours will increase to 6.00 pm once the club is registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

Role overview:
As the nominated Person in Charge (PIC) with CIW, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the after-school club, providing a safe and stimulating play environment for the children attending the club, while working in line with CIW standards and Playworks Childcare Policies and Procedures and managing a team of staff.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the day to day running of the club, setting up the club and cleaning at the end of the session.
  • Working in partnership with parents to plan for the individual needs and preferences of the children.
  • Providing opportunities for play and learning which encourage all areas of development, working with your team to plan and deliver these activities.
  • Ensuring that the club is welcoming and friendly, while taking into account all health and safety issues.
  • Providing the children with a healthy and nutritious snack.
  • Ensuring that all policies set out are adhered to at all times.
Qualifications and experience
  • The successful applicant must hold a level 3 CCLD or Level 3 Playwork qualification; if you do not have a Playwork qualification, you must be willing to work towards achieving this.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a CIW regulated setting is essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required for the role.
