Position: CAREFIRST ASSIST SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adult Services Care First/Eclipse Team for an individual with strong communication and organisational skills to join us as an Assistant Systems Administrator.

Eclipse is our newly implemented electronic Social Care system, replacing Care First across Adult, Housing & Communities and Children’s Services. The platform will be continuously evolving, with an active programme of development to meet the changing needs of social care delivery.

Our team plays a vital role in ensuring staff can use the system confidently and effectively. Providing high‑quality support to end users is at the heart of the Care First/Eclipse service, helping colleagues across the organisation deliver safe, responsive, and informed care.

About the job

We are seeking a motivated and committed person to undertake a range of responsibilities, including:

Supporting the maintenance and ongoing development of the Eclipse and Care First database systems, including data quality and clean‑up activities

Developing and creating support materials and modules

Providing ongoing assistance, guidance and technical support to end users

Offering daily communication with end users and managers to ensure effective and correct use of Eclipse/Carefirst

This is a fast‑paced environment, and the ability to work under pressure is essential to ensure the smooth running of the service.

What We Are Looking For From You

Excellent IT skills, along with a basic understanding of Business Objects and report writing

Knowledge of SharePoint administration is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Accuracy, attention to detail and a methodical approach are critical.

You should be an effective communicator with the ability to understand the operational needs of the service area.

Previous experience using Microsoft Teams and delivering high‑quality customer support is also essential.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

Additional information

This post is temporary until 31 st March 2027 and is for 37 hours per week.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

This role is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service Basic check.
