Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well‑known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

As a Despatch Operative, you’ll be a key part of our operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling and distribution of daily orders.

Your role will help us deliver fresh, high‑quality bread and baked goods to homes and businesses every day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safety First:
  Proactively report hazards and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a Zero Harm workplace.
• Order Fulfillment:
  Pick, load, unload, and manage products with accuracy and efficiency.
• Adaptability:
  Take on various tasks across the despatch operation and embrace learning new skills.
• Performance Excellence:
  Achieve targets using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other performance tools.
• Standards Compliance:
  Maintain a “clean as you go” approach, contributing to internal and external audits.

To thrive in this role at Allied Bakeries, you’ll bring:

• Experience in a warehousing or distribution environment.
• PC literacy and familiarity with WMS systems.
• Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• A team‑focused attitude, reliability, and great organisational skills.
• Flexibility and a proactive approach to challenges.
• External FLT licenses (desirable but not essential).
• Strong customer and quality focus.
