Position: WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT OFFICER

Cardiff Council's Specialist Housing service offers a range of accommodation and support services to individuals and families living in Cardiff which include Cardiff Supported Living, Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation, Housing First & Community Living, Managed and Supported Accommodation for older people, young adults, single people and families.

About the job

In this role, you will support the Workforce Development Officer in managing the training requirements of staff within Specialist Housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and book training sessions, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish.
  • Manage numerous training courses at once, balancing priorities effectively.
  • Liaise with internal and external training providers and act as the main point of contact for trainers on site.
  • Raise purchase order numbers and liaise with the Business Administration team and Accounts team to ensure smooth financial processes.
  • Monitor staff training needs throughout the year to ensure compliance and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff training and future development needs, using spreadsheets and other tools.
  • Invite nominated delegates and oversee attendance to ensure engagement.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of record-keeping and administration.

This role will be primarily office-based.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and detail-oriented person to join our team, with a passion for contributing to staff development. This individual will have strong communication and administrative skills and be able to take the initiate and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong IT skills and a problem-solving mindset are essential.
