Oversee Facility operations and drive innovation as part of Southern Illinois Health as their next Director of Facilities and Construction in Carbondale, Illinois.

• The Director of Facilities and Construction is responsible for the strategic planning, design, direction, and implementation of all construction and renovation projects throughout the facility.
• Oversee compliance, safety, budget management, innovation, disaster and recovery planning, and security initiatives throughout Southern Illinois Health system.
• Oversee bids and evaluations from architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all local and federal codes, certifications, and accreditations are achieved.
• Provide insight on current development/expansion projects and ensure survey readiness within all protocols/regulations.
• Direct the strategic planning process for future development and assist with all facility renovations including oversight of estimates, design, and permitting costs to guarantee optimal growth throughout the organization.
• Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to handle technical or administrative responsibilities, including creating positive working relationships with staff, leadership, and the community.
• Provide strategic leadership throughout the department and implement proactive plans for current and future development throughout the facility.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, industrial, and/or electrical engineering is required; master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification and/or other field-related certifications are required.
• Minimum of 10+ years of healthcare facilities experience, including at least five years of leadership experience.

• The base salary range is $171,000 to $273,000 annually.
• In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses.
• The total compensation for the finalist will be determined based on factors such as scope of role, experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range is a good faith determination at the time of advertisement and may be modified in the future.
