Volunteer Opportunity for Nursing Students in Carbondale

At Residential Healthcare Group, we are on a mission to positively impact our patients and their families by providing exceptional home health, palliative, and hospice care. We strive to offer individualized care plans and experiences with a collaborative approach.

We are seeking volunteers to sit with our patients, hold their hand, talk to them, or engage in activities they prefer. This role is ideal for nursing students looking to gain insight into patient care and human connection. Volunteers will not be asked to perform hands‑on care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients for 1–2 hours per week.
• Assist in engaging patients in conversation, games, or other preferred activities.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times.
• Observe patient condition and report any significant changes to the care team.

Requirements:

• Current nursing student or pre‑clinical student.
• Enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient‑focused.
• Availability to visit patients 1–2 hours per week.
