Localization Project Manager (LPM) - Contractor

About the Role

The Localization team is seeking an experienced localization project manager to help tackle Uber AI Solution s growing localization and multilingual needs. In this role, you'll work closely with our Strategic / Delivery Program Managers (PgMs) to ensure on-time & high linguistic quality in all project deliveries.

You'll work with internal linguists & outside vendors to manage day-to-day localization and operation requests across all languages and programs for deliverable.

What You'll Do
Manage day-to-day programs from external clients across all supported languages, from project creation, tracking, and resolving vendor queries to delivery of clients content
Interface vendor PMs for day-to-day project duties and ensure smooth execution of tasks
Support Strategic / Delivery Program Managers in all client s launches
Work with PgMs to ensure Client schedules remain on track and work directly with Vendors to address any requirements
Sync-up with Program Manager or other Project Manager for daily/weekly tasks
Identify and manage project risks and communicate project status including metrics
Suggest solutions for improving Localization tools and/or process gaps

Minimum qualifications
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
2 years of localization project management experience
1 year of experience working with external multilingual vendors
Passionate about Uber AI Solution and the mission
Great understanding of localization and internationalization issues
Great understanding of vendor cost structure and communication styles
Experience using CAT tools as an LPM to manage localization pipeline & workflows
Very detail-oriented, quality-focused and proactive
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
Quality driven - you're helping set the direction of the Uber brand we need those who are committed to excellence
Excellent team player
Ability to manage operations at scale
Be proficient in and manage technical processes (e.g. Advise clients on best practices for l10n and i18n)
