Overview

Hire Resolve’s client is looking for a Dispatch Manager who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dispatch department in Bellville. This includes planning and coordinating the timely delivery of goods to customers, optimizing delivery routes, managing a team of drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Dispatch Manager will also be responsible for tracking orders, resolving delivery issues, and maintaining accurate records of inventory and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers.
  • Optimize delivery routes to minimize delivery times and reduce costs.
  • Manage a team of drivers, assigning routes and providing necessary training and support.
  • Monitor driver performance and provide feedback as needed.
  • Track orders and shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delivery issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in the dispatch department.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any customer issues.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in dispatch management, preferably in a shipping or logistics company.
  • Microsoft Office + SAGE systems experiencce
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of dispatch software and routing tools.
  • Experience managing a team of drivers and coordinating delivery schedules.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in the transportation industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
