We are looking for an experienced Rigger Chargehand for our Fittershop - Engineering to join our busy fishing operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for supervising rigging activities and ensuring safe, efficient deck operations.

Engineering Workshop - Location:
South Arm Road, V&A Waterfront
- Lead and supervise rigging crew
- Assist the Foreman in effectively ensuring that work conditions on the vessel are safe to carry out operations.
- Effectively provide instructions and engage in collaborative efforts with the Crane Operator to facilitate the lifting and placement of the component onto the quay side
- Rig the vessels engine or pumps onto the deck.
- Conduct safety checks and toolbox talks
- Provide workshop members with clear instructions regarding the essential instruments they should bring.
- Proven experience as a Rigger Chargehand
- 4 – 5 years rigging experience
- Trade Test Qualification
- HSE (health, safety, environmental) knowledge: A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures, including knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards
- Ability to work in high‑pressure environment
- Rigging techniques:
Proficiency in various rigging techniques, including lifting, hoisting, and securing loads using appropriate tools and equipment. - Understanding the mechanical aspects of marine components and systems
