Role OverviewVegtech Netafim is seeking a Sales Consultant for the Southern Region, based at our Head Office in Cape Town. The successful candidate will join our sales team and be responsible for selling a wide range of agricultural commodity products, including greenhouse plastics, nets, mulches, growing media (coir, peat and blends), pots, lighting solutions, and related products.
This role combines sales execution, customer relationship management, and technical product support to drive sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Follow up on all relevant leads and customer enquiries
- Provide technical advice to customers to support appropriate product selection
- Prepare and manage quotations with support from the internal sales team
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular engagement and site visits
- Grow the business by acquiring new customers and increasing sales within the region
- Support marketing initiatives, including online channels, symposiums, exhibitions, and trade shows
- Engage with internal agronomists and technical specialists to enhance product knowledge and connect customers with subject‑matter experts when required
- Relevant tertiary qualification in sales, agronomy, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar sales role, preferably within the agricultural sector
- Meticulous and methodical, with strong record‑keeping skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
- Highly self‑motivated with the ability to set and achieve sales goals
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Western, Northern & Eastern Cape
