A well-established, fast-paced café is urgently seeking an experienced STORE MANAGER to oversee the day-to-day operations.

This is a fast paced café based in the heart of Cape Town in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth store operations, excellent customer service, strong team leadership, and consistent brand standards in a high-volume environment.

Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency
  • Manage opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and presentation
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and manage store staff
  • Lead, motivate, and discipline team members where required
  • Conduct performance management and staff development
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels at all times
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and handle customer queries or complaints professionally
  • Build strong relationships with regular customers
  • Uphold a positive, welcoming store atmosphere
  • Manage stock ordering, receiving, and stock control
  • Minimise waste and control costs
  • Assist with cash-ups, daily reporting, and basic financial controls
  • Work within set budgets and operational targets
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
  • Ensure systems and procedures are followed consistently
  • Communicate effectively with head office and suppliers
Core Criteria:
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a café, restaurant, or retail food environment
  • Proven experience in a store or restaurant management role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service ability
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy (POS systems, email, basic admin)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
