Job role:
Waiter/Waitress. Scope: prepare for Food and Beverage service and serve guests in line with the Food and Beverage concept. Deliver a personalized service experience that upholds Fairmont’s service promise and brand standards.
As a Waiter/Waitress you will be responsible to prepare for Food and Beverage service and serve our guests in line with the Food and Beverage concept. You will provide guests with the full experience that encompasses engaging and personalized service from beginning to end of service. Turn moments with us into memories by delivering Fairmont’s service promise and the highest level of brand standards and Fairmont service standards.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates Fairmont standards in all interactions.
- Promotes and maintains a positive working relationship with all colleagues in Fairmont.
- Consistently offers professional, friendly and warm service.
- Understands Restaurant Policies & Procedures and Service Standards as outlined by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
- Has full knowledge of the Menu, Beverage lists in the outlet and all other promotions in the hotel. Knows menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods; able to answer guest questions informatively and helpfully.
- Understands shift end reports and non-cash/cash transactions; knows procedures for depositing monies into safe or collecting due backs.
- Understands how to operate all equipment used in the outlet.
- Follows the hotel’s recycling program and procedures.
- Active participation in all health and safety procedures of the hotel.
- Follows safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
- Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by the manager to deliver total quality service in the restaurant.
- Follows the hotel’s telephone etiquette standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Outstanding guest service skills, professional presentation and sophisticated communication skills.
- Proficient in English (verbal & written); second language is an asset.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous service experience is an asset.
- Available to work night shifts, weekends and/or holidays.
- Previous point of sale system experience is an asset, but not required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Ability to focus on guest needs and remain calm and courteous at all times.
