We are hiring a detail-driven Sous Chef to bring creativity and precision to our kitchen operations.
Sous Chef Location: CPT
-Stellenbosch, Western Cape Type: PermanentReporting to: Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee continental breakfast and hot offerings on a three-day cycle plan.
- Curate poolside and lounge menus reflecting heritage flair.
- Support dinner service and potential room service maintaining consistency.
- Design cycle menus, cost dishes accurately, and manage profitability.
- Manage stock, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure quality procurement.
- Uphold plating standards aligned with our premium positioning.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and high morale in the kitchen.
- Must have a strong creative flair for heritage-style foods.
- Proven expertise in menu costing, stock control, and supplier negotiation.
- Excellent eye for detail in plating and presentation.
- Natural teacher and motivator with a collaborative leadership style.
- Previous experience in premium or luxury hospitality environments preferred.
- Standard hospitality working hours including weekends and evenings.
- Competitive salary starting at R25,000 per month with potential increase based on experience.
