Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical vetting, assessment, induction, orientation, and follow-up evaluations for ICU nursing staff placed at client facilities.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentoring, and skills development support to ICU nurses, ensuring correct application of ICU nursing practices and compliance with SANC regulations
- Identify training needs and facilitate coaching, assessments, refresher training, and professional development interventions.
- Investigate, document, and report on clinical incidents and assessment outcomes, ensuring accurate record keeping on our CRM and relevant systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, statutory, and client-specific nursing standards and policies.
- Conduct regular client site visits, maintain stakeholder relationships, and obtain performance feedback.
- Support recruitment and compliance processes, including candidate interviews and registration verification where required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training materials, policies, and clinical facilitation processes.
- Perform relevant administrative duties related to clinical facilitation and maintain professional and confidential conduct at all times.
Clinical Knowledge
- Pathophysiology of critical illnesses
- Mechanical ventilation principles
- Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
- Critical care medications
- Neurological management
- Isolation protocols and sterile procedures
- Prevention of hospital-acquired infections
- Competent in BLS/CPR
- Knowledge of the scope of practice for all nursing categories and SANC regulations
- Strong clinical guidance and mentoring ability
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of organisation and administrative capability
- Strong problem-solving and risk identification skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- A four (4) year Diploma or Degree in Nursing (Regulation R425) enabling registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Postgraduate Diploma in Adult/Neonatal ICU, accredited by SANC.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience across Adult/Neonatal ICU and related nursing disciplines.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support)
