Textile Knitting Manager

Overview

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Textile Knitting Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

• Matric (Grade 12) - essential
• Tertiary qualification in Textile Technology / Knitting / Manufacturing - advantageous
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a textile knitting manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within production
• Solid understanding of knitting machinery, yarns, fabrics, and production processes
• Experience managing operations across multiple sites preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel between Cape Town (home base) and Gauteng factories
• Availability to commence by end of 1st quarter

• Overall management of knitting production operations across two factories
• Production planning, scheduling, and capacity management to meet output targets
• Ensure quality standards are maintained and continuously improved
• Technical troubleshooting of machinery, processes, and fabric faults
• Manage and develop production teams, supervisors, and technical staff
• Monitor KPIs including efficiency, downtime, waste, and costs
• Implement and maintain health & safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards
• Liaise with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
• Prepare and report on production performance to senior management
