Overview
My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Textile Knitting Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Qualifications & Experience- Matric (Grade 12) - essential
- Tertiary qualification in Textile Technology / Knitting / Manufacturing - advantageous
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a textile knitting manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within production
- Solid understanding of knitting machinery, yarns, fabrics, and production processes
- Experience managing operations across multiple sites preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel between Cape Town (home base) and Gauteng factories
- Availability to commence by end of 1st quarter
- Overall management of knitting production operations across two factories
- Production planning, scheduling, and capacity management to meet output targets
- Ensure quality standards are maintained and continuously improved
- Technical troubleshooting of machinery, processes, and fabric faults
- Manage and develop production teams, supervisors, and technical staff
- Monitor KPIs including efficiency, downtime, waste, and costs
- Implement and maintain health & safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards
- Liaise with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
- Prepare and report on production performance to senior management
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent technical and analytical problem-solving ability
- High level of numeracy and data-driven decision-making
- Effective communication skills across all levels
- Proven leadership and people management capability
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
