Java Architect

As a Java Architect our ideal candidate will be responsible for producing a comprehensive technical specification that offers a technical viable solution and address the business requirements. Designing test plans and provide guidelines to facilitate performance and stress testing Continuous business and industry research to guide the critical evaluation of architectural and design patterns and principles.

Key Performance Areas

1. Design and implementation of Back-End applications

• Consult with Business Analysts on functional design handovers
• Architecture:
• Technical Specifications
• Development

2. Quality assurance of Back-End team

• Ensure Back-End team adhere to the SDLC
• Continuous monitoring and evaluation
• Responsible for the overall stability of the production environment
• Responsible for uptime during:
  Standby and daily operations

Experience

• At least 5 years’ relevant design and development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring

• Analysis, design and writing technical specifications

• Relational database Design

• Java script/HTML/CSS

• Web Services/SOAP

• Windows Services

• WCF (Windows Communication Foundation)

• OO Development Methodologies

• MVC and MVVM Architecture

• SQL Server & Windows Server

• Windows, Active Domain, and IIS security models

• Integration of different systems and platforms

• Cloud Architecture (AWS)

Knowledge :

Min:

• Must have detailed knowledge of:
o System Architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
o System analysis and design
o UML or equivalent modelling language
o Technical Test Plan Design
o IT systems development processes
o Application development

• Ideal:
o Detailed knowledge of:
o Banking systems
o Agile development life cycle
o Best practices for Quality Assurance
o Object Orientated Development environment (i.e., Java, Spring Framework, JBoss)

Qualifications

• Grade 12 National Certificate
• A relevant tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) in Information Technology
