Process Operator - Epping

Overall Responsibility

The Process Operator is responsible for operating packaging machines/ equipment to achieve production goals efficiently whilst ensuring safety, quality and cost effectiveness.

• Complying with OSH act and other safety regulations
• Report unsafe practices, conditions and incidents
• Use appropriate PPE and follow waste segregation guidelines
• Participate in safety meetings and compliance initiatives
• Adhere to safe working practices at all times

• Ensure efficient machine operation to meet packaging KPIs
• Verify machine readiness before startup
• Operate machinery per standard operating procedures, including startup, shutdown, and changeovers
• Attend preshift meetings and conduct shiftly handovers
• Maintain housekeeping standards in his/her area of operation
• Provide performance feedback on equipment and material usage
• Monitor and control the process, assist in the management of usages and waste on shift
• Must be willing to assist with tasks outside of the normal scope of packaging
• Drive manufacturing excellence pillars on the shopfloor

• Perform first-line maintenance and report machine faults
• Perform autonomous maintenance
• Follow standard safety procedures and asset care protocols

• Adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions
• Conduct quality checks on packaging processes in a timeous manner
• Monitor quality parameters and ensure product standard is maintained
• Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions

• Matric Certificate (Maths & Physics)
• Technical Cources (N3,N4,N5 or N6) will be added advantage
• Minimum of 4 year's experience in an FMCG environment as a multi skilled operator
• Must be willing to accept shift work hours, dictated by production schedules

• Operate plant and process equipment
• Carry out basic machine maintenance
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
• Wiling to work shifts assigned according to the schedule
• Work in teams
