As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising an ammonia refrigeration plant, ensuring reliability and efficiency across operations. You will respond to operational requests from logistics, troubleshoot issues, and uphold safety protocols. The role requires independence during shifts and the ability to step up in the absence of the Senior Refrigeration Technician.

• Maintain and optimise ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure continuous operation
• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration plant components with minimal downtime
• Respond to operational requests from logistics and other departments
• Uphold strict safety protocols, procedures, and compliance standards
• Work independently during shifts and provide cover during absences in the refrigeration team
• Perform inspections, record-keeping, and reporting on plant performance
• Support operational continuity through overtime and standby responsibilities

• Minimum 5 years of experience in refrigeration, with strong mechanical knowledge of plant components
• Matric qualification with basic computer literacy
• Thorough knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
• First aid and safety training, with proven commitment to safe work practices
• Physically fit and able to work at heights
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in standby rotations
