CAD​/CAM OPERATOR

Seeking a reliable CAD/CAM Operator to fulfil the role in nesting 2D cutting solutions for premium quality parts using less material. The CAD/CAM Operator must be able to use computer software to provide programs and other critical details for CNC machines; create set up sheet for the CNC operators. Managing all programs accessible to each machine.

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required min 3-5 years
• Previous experience in the Steel industry/fast paced manufacturing industry
• Bysoft and Sigmanest experience 3-5 years
• Technical drawings
• National Diploma Mechanical Eng (WISH)
• Code 8 driver licence (must)
• Computer Literate (Excel)
• Ability to understand and learn new systems and programs
• Active listener and excellent communication skills

• Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with customer blueprints
• Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
• Automatically sort work into tasks by material and machine
• Optimize material usage and machine motion
• Track productivity from start to finish
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
• Ability to train new Operators on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs if required
• Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
