We are seeking experienced Mechanical Plant Operators (MPO
3) to join our client on a three-month contract during the festive period. To ensure continuation of crucial disposal services at various transfers stations across the Cape Metro. The successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy mechanical plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect safety devices, controls, and lubricant levels on vehicles and heavy plant; report defects to the Foreman.
• Complete daily checklists and record operational hours in logbooks.
• Carry out instructions from the Foreman efficiently and safely.
• Operate a range of mechanical plant, including:
• Excavators, Dozers, Articulated Dump Trucks, Hooklift Trucks, Slave Vehicles, and Trash Compactors.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in accordance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
• Load, offload, and transport containerized waste and water.
• Drive and manoeuvre heavy mechanical plant to perform digging, loading, grading, and leveling operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualifications:
• Valid competency certificates for the relevant mechanical plant (e.g., Excavators, Dozers, Dump Trucks, Hooklifts, etc.)
• Valid Drivers Licence (Code C / C1 Code EC) with PrDP
• Experience:
• Minimum 3 years proven experience operating various types of earthmoving and heavy mechanical plant
• Other Requirements:
• Valid medical certificate from a registered GP
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow operational protocols
