What You’ll Do

• Underwrite complex risks for new business, renewals and ad‑hoc cases.
• Identify reinsurance needs and implement effective solutions.
• Provide accurate high‑level technical feedback.
• Negotiate with internal and external clients to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple levels of the organization.

What We’re Looking For

• 5 years experience in short‑term commercial insurance underwriting. Preference to candidates with experience in Santam Commercial Underwriting.
• Grade 12 and FAIS compliance (120 credits on NQF Level 5 Commercial Lines & Personal Lines).
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Completed Santam Commercial & Personal product training (SMKs).
• Extensive knowledge of short‑term insurance and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with contact centre processes SLAs and commercial quoting tools.
• Results‑driven with strong client focus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
• Skilled in influencing and negotiating.
• Commercially astute with strategic thinking.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
