Business Enablement for the Claims Implementation & Support Specialist who will be based in Bellville.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

To ensure that claim operating applications, B2B integration applications, and processes of quality are implemented and to ensure the end users are upskilled and supported post any of these implementations.

This position places a strong emphasis on IT and system-related responsibilities, demanding a high degree of adaptability in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. You’ll be expected to proactively solve problems, demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn, and collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams. Familiarity with insurance processes is a definite advantage, providing a solid foundation, but comfort with engaging new technologies and adapting to evolving processes will be critical as these form a significant part of your daily activities.

Operational support is provided around the clock, with IT activities such as deployments, upgrades, and patching frequently scheduled outside standard business hours to minimize disruption. Santam Claims operates 24/7, requiring a dedicated support structure, and our team shares standby responsibilities on a rotating two-week cycle to ensure consistent coverage.

  • This role functions within Santam Claims but also fulfils a pivotal role within the Santam Shared Services in providing service to the IT project teams.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Applied Agile delivery knowledge, demonstrated through hands‑on experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile environments, contributing independently to delivery activities such as sprint execution, backlog refinement, testing, release support, or business readiness activities.
    Formal Agile or SAFe® training/certification will be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile delivery frameworks, with practical exposure to multi‑team or enterprise delivery environments and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and IT stakeholders to support implementation outcomes.
  • Practical exposure to Guidewire systems in a cloud‑based environment, including participation in system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or post‑implementation support activities such as:
    • User acceptance testing and defect support
    • End‑user training or enablement
    • Business process alignment and adoption support - Guidewire Cloud certification or formal Guidewire education will be advantageous.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Claims, with demonstrated understanding of the end‑to‑end claims value chain and the ability to apply this knowledge to support system implementation, change, and operational improvement initiatives.
