We are looking for a technically adept Level 2 Engineer to bridge the gap between infrastructure support and strategic innovation.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned IT professional with 5-7 years of hands‑on industry experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for advanced technical support, client site visits, and driving the adoption of modern cloud and AI technologies within our client environments.
Key Responsibilities- On‑Site Support & Client Management:
Provide face‑to‑face technical support at client sites across Cape Town, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. - Infrastructure Optimization:
Design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and on‑premise virtualization (VMware). - Security & Compliance:
Assist clients in adhering to regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001) by implementing cybersecurity frameworks and conducting risk assessments. - Automation & AI Integration:
Leverage AI tools and data analytics platforms to automate routine tasks and provide predictive insights into client infrastructure. - Project Management:
Lead small‑to‑medium scale IT transitions, helping clients move from reactive break‑fix models to proactive Managed Infrastructure Programs (MIP).
IT Infrastructure & Cloud Management
- Strong experience in designing and optimizing hybrid cloud environments.
- Proficiency in networking and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware).
AI & Data Analytics
- Hands‑on exposure to AI tools and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
- Experience with data analytics platforms used for automation and predictive insights.
Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge
- Solid understanding of GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST.
- Experience with risk assessment, audits, and control implementation.
Strategic Project & Transition Management
- Proven ability to lead large‑scale IT transformations.
- Experience transitioning clients from reactive MSP models to proactive MIP frameworks.
- Strong Agile and change management skills.
Cybersecurity & Threat Intelligence
- Advanced skills in threat detection and incident response.
- Experience with AI‑driven security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection) to proactively manage risk.
- Minimum 5‑7 years of active working experience in the IT industry.
- Relevant certifications in Azure, AWS, or VMware are highly advantageous.
- Matric / Grade 12 is essential; a tertiary IT qualification is preferred.
