IT Project Manager

IT Project Manager position available in Bellville.

This is an initial 12-month contract for an experienced IT Project Manager who can take full ownership of delivering software-focused projects from planning through to rollout.

You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, keep stakeholders aligned, manage risk and budget tightly, and ensure delivery stays on track.

Ideal for someone who’s confident operating in structured governance while still delivering in an Agile environment.

Tech environment: Agile delivery (Scrum), SDLC, JIRA, Confluence.

Type: Hybrid – 1-year contract.

Salary: Up to R650 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resourcing, and budget
• Lead project execution, drive milestones, and remove delivery blockers
• Track progress, report status clearly, and take corrective action when needed
• Manage stakeholders across different levels and regions, including remote and offshore parties
• Allocate and coordinate resources with relevant managers; resolve resource conflicts fast
• Identify risks early, build mitigation plans, and keep risk logs current
• Put practical quality checks in place so outputs meet agreed standards
• Manage budgets and spend tracking; flag risks and opportunities for efficiencies
• Lead and motivate project teams; create a collaborative, accountable team culture
• Run post‑project reviews, document lessons learned, and improve delivery practices

Requirements:

• IT Degree or Diploma
• PMP (or another recognised project management certification)
• 10+ years in IT, including 5+ years in software development
• Strong SDLC understanding from business concept through deployment
• Proven delivery experience using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
• Agile experience with Scrum knowledge preferred
• Hands‑on experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (including remote/offshore engagement)
• Financial services or insurance exposure is advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, facilitation, and influencing skills
• Solid MS Office skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
