Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Senior Performance Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing & Brand, you will be responsible for the technical execution and optimization of our digital marketing campaigns across all paid channels, e-commerce platforms, SEO, and email marketing.
This is a specialist role focused on turning strategic direction into measurable results through expert campaign execution, data analysis, and continuous optimization. You will work closely with our creative and communications teams to bring marketing strategies to life while maintaining technical excellence across all digital touchpoints.
Key ResponsibilitiesPaid Media & Advertising
- Execute and optimize paid campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, Performance Max), Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Tik Tok, and other relevant platforms
- Manage campaign setup, bid strategies, budget allocation, audience targeting, and ad scheduling
- Conduct A/B testing on ad creative, copy, landing pages, and audience segments to maximize ROI
- Monitor campaign performance daily and make data-driven optimizations to improve ROAS, CPA, CTR, and conversion rates
- Implement conversion tracking, pixels, and analytics tags across all platforms
- Stay current with platform updates, beta features, and new advertising opportunities
E-commerce & Website Optimization
- Manage and optimize Shopify store including product listings, collections, navigation, and user experience
- Analyse e-commerce performance metrics including conversion rates, cart abandonment, average order value, and customer lifetime value
- Optimize product pages, checkout flows, and landing pages for improved conversion
- Implement and monitor Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and e-commerce tracking on Shopify
- Set up and optimize Shopify apps and integrations to enhance functionality and performance
- Collaborate with web development and creative teams to implement technical improvements and design updates
- Conduct regular site audits to identify and resolve technical issues affecting performance
SEO & Organic Growth
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Optimize website content, meta tags, schema markup, and technical SEO elements
- Monitor search rankings, organic traffic, and backlink profiles
- Provide SEO recommendations for content creation and website improvements
- Manage local SEO optimization if applicable
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals and site speed
Email Marketing (Mailchimp)
- Manage Mailchimp backend including database hygiene, list segmentation, and subscriber management
- Collaborate with designer to build and schedule email campaigns (currently three mailers weekly) using existing design assets
- Implement automation workflows, triggered campaigns, and personalized email journeys
- Optimize email deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates
- Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, send times, content, and CTAs
- Ensure GDPR and POPIA compliance in all email marketing activities
Analytics & Reporting
- Create comprehensive performance dashboards and reports tracking KPIs across all channels
- Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to inform marketing strategy
- Track and report on marketing attribution, customer journey analytics, and multi-touch attribution
- Present monthly performance reports to the Head of Digital Marketing & Brand and Communications Director
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities from data analysis
- Monitor competitor activity and benchmark performance against industry standards
Strategic Collaboration
- Translate marketing strategies developed by leadership into tactical campaign execution
- Provide performance insights and technical recommendations to inform future strategy
- Collaborate with creative team to ensure campaigns are set up for optimal performance
- Work cross-functionally with product, customer service, and sales teams to align marketing efforts
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field
- Relevant professional certifications may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in performance marketing, digital marketing, or e-commerce marketing
- Proven track record managing significant monthly ad budgets (as specified by Healing Earth) with demonstrated ROI
- Experience working with e-commerce brands, preferably in beauty, wellness, luxury, or lifestyle sectors
- Demonstrated success in scaling e-commerce revenue through paid and organic channels
Technical Skills (Essential)
- Expert-level proficiency in Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, Performance Max)
- Advanced knowledge of Meta Ads Manager (Facebook & Instagram)
- Strong experience with Tik Tok Ads or other emerging social media advertising platforms
- Deep expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager
