AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Software Quality Assurance Tester to work a hybrid work schedule out of one of our offices in Cape Town, Durban, or Johannesburg South Afirca. The successful candidate will play an integral role on multiple projects ensuring the quality of internal and client-facing applications. Our R&D team produces a variety of applications, typically with geospatial capabilities, that run on the desktop, web, AWS, and a variety of client production systems.

The candidate will need to learn topics in water resources engineering and flood mitigation.

The typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct manual testing on a variety of desktop and web solutions.
• Define, build, and maintain test scenarios that validate these solutions on an ongoing basis.
• Execute test scenarios, monitor test results, identify issues, and work with the software development team to resolve.
• Ensure solutions fulfill the highest possible quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria.

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience with manual and automation testing of desktop and/or web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum.
• Experience with ESRI and open-source GIS technologies.
• Basic familiarity with Dev Ops concepts.
• Demonstrated aptitude with relational database systems such as SQL Server.
• Demonstrated aptitude with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to clearly explain ideas and thoughts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for quality, detail oriented, and know how to break software by finding bugs.
• Interest in learning about GIS technologies.
