Description
The Group Finance Enablement FIT Business Intelligence Business Analyst is a well-rounded and skilled individual with a mature understanding of Data Management and Data Modelling.
By understanding and using data, solutions are designed and built to assist stakeholders with producing reports and dashboards that will enable informed business decisions. This role requires a committed, analytical individual with excellent communication skills.
The role is responsible for ensuring the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the models used to calculate finance and actuarial reporting outputs. This role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable IFRS calculations while supporting financial reporting, actuarial analysis, and risk management. The successful candidate will collaborate with finance, actuarial, IT, and regulatory teams to drive continuous improvements in IFRS 17 reporting processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage the ongoing maintenance of IFRS 17 models as well as other custom applications to ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with IT and data teams to optimize model performance, automation, and integration with financial systems.
Gather and document data and reporting requirements
Perform data profiling and analysis
Independently or collaboratively design data models to meet business requirement
Produce clear and comprehensive design artefacts such as data flows, source to target mappings, data models, sample reports/dashboards
Build proof-of-concept or mock-ups to illustrate functionality and/or output
Engage with technical team and support development process
Test and monitor testing to ensure quality final delivery
Build output e.g. Power BI reports and/or dashboards
Facilitate implementation, delivery and adoption by stakeholders through training & support
Follow Data Management best practices, particularly ensuring Data Governance is in place
Ad hoc tasks and activities as required by management from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Required Experience
Undergraduate degree (information systems is favourable) with at least 5 years experience in being part of a team that owns financial modelling processes and reporting (IFRS 17 exposure is favourable)
Experience with financial systems, databases and automation solutions – SQL experience preferred
Appreciation for internal controls and governance processes
Attention to detail
Solution focused with the ability to troubleshoot issues
Understanding of Agile methodology
