Senior Product Insights ManagerJob Description
The Senior Product Insights Manager is a key strategic role, responsible for driving data-driven insights to inform product development and business strategy. This individual will work with senior leadership, product managers and UI/UX designers to gather, analyse, and present actionable insights based on market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive intelligence.
Responsibilities- Establish research, analytics, and reporting processes that align with the company’s objectives.
- Implement Research Democratisation and Continuous Research across the domains of People, Process, and Impact.
- Promote best practices and emerging technologies to foster a culture of learning and development.
- Continually optimise data-gathering and research methods to reduce barriers to actionable insight.
- Equip and upskill Product Managers and UI/UX designers with the appropriate tools and guidance.
- Build and lead a high-performing research and analytics team over time.
- Lead strategic research into fintech trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Conduct market segmentation, product viability analysis, and opportunity assessments with PMs and UX teams.
- Analyse trends in payments, lending, digital banking, and the broader fintech ecosystem.
- Drive the strategy and integrations required for continuous, technology-enabled insight generation.
- Establish and manage product analytics platforms, ensuring high-quality data collection and accessibility.
- Develop A/B testing methodologies to optimise product performance.
- Build dashboards and report regularly on KPIs, market trends, and user insights for senior leadership.
- Lead customer research initiatives and ongoing competitor and industry analysis.
- Translate complex insights into clear narratives for executives and collaborate across teams to embed research into product decisions.
- Matric
- Relevant Degree e.g. BCOM or BA with quantitative research and analytics background.
- 10+ years of experience in product research and development, data analytics, and/or business intelligence, preferably within fintech or financial services.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools like SPSS or similar platforms.
- Understanding of statistical techniques, modelling, and A/B testing methodologies.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Google Analytics / Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with user research techniques, including surveys, usability testing, focus groups, interviews, participant observation and customer journey mapping.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative team player with experience working cross-functionally with marketing, UI/UX, product, engineering, and business teams.
