Ecommerce Copywriter- Poetry

We’re looking for a detail-driven and commercially minded eCommerce Copywriter to join our team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of product data quality and on-site content, ensuring copy is accurate, optimised for SEO, and aligned with brand messaging. From product naming to homepage updates, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the customer journey and driving performance across our digital channels.

• Create accurate, engaging & SEO-optimised product copy across a range of categories
• Maintain consistency in product naming conventions and attributes to support search and filtering
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of product information through cross-functional collaboration
• Review site search terms and customer feedback to improve product data and discoverability
• Update on-site content including homepages and landing pages in line with campaigns and seasonal promotions
• Moderate product reviews and take appropriate actions where necessary
• Collaborate with wider teams (e.g. Merchandise & Marketing) to ensure messaging consistency
• Contribute to ongoing site improvements by analysing user behaviour and performance data
• Stay informed on industry trends and conduct regular benchmarking to identify opportunities
• Champion SEO best practices across all web content and support continuous optimisation efforts

• At least 3‑5 years’ experience in a similar position
• Matric and related tertiary education in digital/eCommerce
• High-level understanding of web design and web analysis
• Understanding of SEO and eCommerce copywriting best practices
• Experience with eCommerce platforms & Google Analytics
• Knowledge of digital marketing channels such as PPC, SEO, display & affiliate marketing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically MS Excel)
• Domain knowledge in eCommerce, retail, online advertising and/or analytics

• Goal oriented and self‑motivated – must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Flexible and adaptable – must enjoy working in a fast‑paced and at times challenging environment
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and with a wide range of individuals with different skill sets
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong sense of ownership & responsibility – track record of performance meeting targets & objectives
• ‘Can do’ positive attitude – eager to grow, learn and develop your skills
• Decisive, structured and organised, with a keen eye for detail
• Fast learner with a strong aptitude for systems
• Passionate about online, digital, eCommerce, websites and UX
