Human Resource Specialist - 18 Month Contract Our client, a reputable higher education institution is seeking an experienced Human Resource Specialist to deliver a proactive, end-to-end HR service over an 18-month period. The role will support a significant recruitment phase with a large scale of new appointments anticipated during the contract term. The successful candidate will work closely with Management and HR stakeholders to plan workforce requirements, develop and manage job descriptions and coordinate efficient Recruitment and HR processes in line with Employment Equity Principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify organisational staffing needs, roles and responsibilities
  • Develop, review and manage job descriptions for new and existing positions
  • Lead job evaluation and grading processes
  • Coordinate recruitment approvals and manage end-to-end recruitment activities
  • Liaise with HR partners and recruitment teams to ensure timely and effective appointments
  • Provide HR support on matters such as promotions and position regrading
Minimum Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (NQF
    7)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Proven experience in workforce planning and organisational development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong project planning and delivery capability
Advantageous Experience
  • Experience working within a large or complex HR environment
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and systems (including SAP HR)
  • Registration with a recognised professional HR Body - SABPP registration
  • Experience in higher education or comparable institutional settings
  • Strong Data Analysis and HR reporting skills
  • Demonstrate ability to lead HR processes and advise management in complex situations
