Job Description

About Swindon

Swindon is an entrepreneurial property group focused on the commercial and industrial market, building long-term value through strong partnerships, and great people. We operate in a fast-moving, relationship-driven environment and believe culture and talent are core to our success.

The Role

We’re looking for an Recruitment and HR Manager who is as comfortable building relationships as they are building teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the balance between people, performance, and practicality.

You’ll take ownership of recruitment across the business while also shaping and managing HR processes that support a growing, entrepreneurial organisation. This role suits someone energetic, outgoing, and commercially minded — not overly corporate, but highly professional.

What You’ll Be Doing

Talent and Recruitment

  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle across all levels of the business,
  • Actively network, source, and attract talent rather than relying purely on job ads
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, agents/brokers, and industry contacts
  • Understand the business well enough to recruit for attitude, culture, and capability as the company grows
  • Support employer branding and positioning Swindon as a great place to work

People and HR

  • Manage day-to-day HR matters with a practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Implement and maintain fit-for-purpose HR policies and processes
  • Support managers with performance management, team challenges, and people decisions
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Oversee and manage the interview process, onboarding/off boarding, employee engagement, and retention initiatives
  • Oversee the cultural/social planning activities both internally and with external clients
  • Identify the areas of growth

Culture & Growth

  • Help build a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture
  • Be visible, approachable, and trusted across the business
  • Support leadership in scaling teams as the business grows
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR and recruitment (formal qualifications advantageous)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR, with strong hands-on recruitment experience
  • Proven ability to balance recruitment delivery with broader HR responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of people, culture, and business dynamics
  • Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident networker who enjoys meeting people and building long-term relationships
  • Willing and able to travel as required
  • Self-starter who thrives in a less structured, entrepreneurial environment
  • Previous experience/exposure in the property industry is advantageous
Why Join Swindon
  • Real influence in shaping teams and culture
  • Direct exposure to leadership and decision-making
  • A dynamic, fast-paced property business with room to grow
  • Competitive package aligned to experience
