As a Training & Engagement Officer at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, you will play a crucial role in cultivating a thriving environment where our team members can excel. Primary Responsibilities Include
  • Support the Learning & Development Manager in the design and development of training programs, including creating training materials, manuals, and visual aids
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions for various departments, covering topics such as service standards, operational procedures, and compliance
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring adequate resources and facilities are available
  • Administer and manage the hotel's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Provide support and guidance to department trainers to ensure consistent training delivery
  • Promote a culture of learning and development within the business, celebrate employees who complete training programs, earn certifications, or demonstrate significant skill development
  • Develop and implement initiatives that foster a positive and engaging work environment across all hotel departments. This includes creating and coordinating team-building activities, social events, team celebrations and recognition and other programs designed to boost employee morale and camaraderie
  • Manage all internal communication channels (e.g., newsletters, Check In post, Linked In, bulletin boards) to keep employees informed and connected
  • Responsible to coordinate the weekly HR newsletter, including L&D activities, on the job trainings/activities and social events
  • Assist with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed
What You Bring
  • Proven experience in facilitating training in an engaging manner
  • Knowledge of learning & development best practices and trends
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organising and leadership skills
  • Experience with administration of a learning management system is advantageous
  • MS Excel and MS PowerPoint to at least an Intermediate level
