Deputy Unit Manager ICU

This is a full-time on-site role located in Cape Town for a Deputy Unit Manager in the ICU. The Deputy Unit Manager will oversee daily operations, supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care. Responsibilities will also include assisting in training staff, managing schedules, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICU management and critical care processes
• Strong leadership, team management, and staff supervision skills
• Excellent knowledge of clinical protocols and patient care standards
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with teams
• Organizational and decision-making skills under high-pressure situations
• Registered Nurse qualification with appropriate certifications and licensure
• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field. A postgraduate qualification in critical care is an advantage
• Proficiency in medical technologies and healthcare management software is beneficial
• Compassionate care with an emphasis on patient dignity and biopsychosocial well-being
