Senior Civil Design Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

This role involves leading and coordinating civil design engineering work for water and wastewater treatment projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you ll deliver detailed designs from concept through to construction, collaborating with UK-based stakeholders and ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, OHSA, and industry standards.

• Lead civil design tasks on major and moderate scope infrastructure projects.
• Interpret client requirements and develop design deliverables such as calculations, sketches, reports, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate condition surveys and integrate survey outputs into civil design.
• Use AutoCAD AEC software to develop site layouts, structures, buried assets, and temporary works.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other design disciplines.
• Perform technical bid evaluations and ensure supplier designs meet compliance standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical innovation within the team.
• Support construction teams with design clarification and site-based guidance.

• 7+ years experience delivering water/wastewater civil engineering projects.
• BTech/BSc in Civil Engineering; ECSA registered (PR Eng / PR Tech / Candidate).
• Strong understanding of design codes, safety standards, and water industry requirements.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Organised, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, team-driven environment with UK time zone collaboration.
