• Lead and manage mechanical design activities, including the creation and review of 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials
• Manage engineering data within CAD and PDM/PLM systems, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with standards
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to define requirements and ensure successful project delivery
• Lead design reviews and ensure designs meet customer specifications, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing requirements
• Support product development from concept through to production, ensuring timelines, milestones, and technical objectives are achieved
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers while identifying opportunities for design improvement and optimisation

• Minimum 15 years’ post‑graduate experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing design projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Advanced CAD experience, with strong knowledge of engineering data management systems toggle (PDM/PLM)
• Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and digital engineering tools
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers and stakeholders

• Matric
• BEng, BSc, or BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
