Project
A commissioning crew for a FNLG vessel working offshore in Western Africa (Starting in Dubai).
Job Summary
The E&I Technician will be responsible for the electrical and instrumentation commissioning activities on the FLNG vessel. They will work closely with the E&I Foreman and other team members to ensure safe and efficient installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing commissioning procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with the E&I Foreman to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Installation:
Install, calibrate, and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment, including sensors, transmitters, control systems, and wiring, according to technical specifications and safety standards. - Maintenance:
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure their reliability and optimal performance. Inspect and test equipment for proper functioning and identify potential issues. - Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. - Repairs:
Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, circuit boards, switches, and relays. Conduct repairs in a timely manner to minimize production interruptions. - Calibration:
Calibrate and adjust instrumentation devices to ensure accurate measurements and control within established tolerances. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, calibrations, and equipment modifications. Update technical documentation as needed. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working with electrical systems. Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions as required. - Collaboration:
Collaborate with engineers, operators, and other maintenance personnel to optimize processes and resolve technical issues. Provide input for continuous improvement initiatives. - Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to emergency situations involving electrical or instrumentation failures, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize production losses and safety risks.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or equivalent in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Relevant experience (3+ years) in commissioning and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
Essential Requirements
- Previous offshore experience
- Experience working on a project (commissioning/construction/hookup)
- Need to be comfortable working offshore for 2-3 months
- Valid Passport
- Possess the following certifications: BOSIET/FOET, OGUK Medical, Yellow Fever card, Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
