JOB PROFILE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering/ B-Tech Degree in Civil Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in municipal engineering projects, focusing on Water and Wastewater Treatment, Pump stations, Sizing Pumps and Pipeline Designs. Between 8 to 10 year’s experience in the design and delivery of engineering projects in urban development, project management, contractual administration, and design. His engineering skills should cover the full spectrum, from project planning and feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed engineering design, contract document preparation, contract administration, engineer responsible for contract monitoring and quality-assurance

Performs technical tasks normally in engineering/scientific/production fields. Professional expertise includes the planning design and contract administration of water- and wastewater treatments, bulk sewerage and water systems

JOB DESCRIPTION
The engineer is required but not limited to the following activities:
  • Project Leader or Design Engineer
  • Assist clients with project inception.
  • Investigate alternative solutions to problems
  • Compile or review technical reports
  • Compilation of project reports and data collection
  • Manage project staff.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 quality assurance standards
  • Perform complex civil designs
  • Review all project designs and drawings
  • Provide technical support
  • Assist as reviewer with design reviews of others projects
  • Initiate project design reviews
  • Prepare manhour budgets and control project finances
  • Initiate Client Surveys and request client reference letters
  • Archive project to current requirements
  • Compile project sheets
  • Project management
  • The preparation of contract documentation, and technical specifications (including performance and acceptance criteria)
  • Monitoring and administration of contracts for construction work.
  • Assist in the procurement of new work, marketing and tendering.
  • Client engagement
  • Mentor, coach and train staff in the field of your expertise.
  • Assist with managing of staffing resources within the Department.
  • Assist with overseeing division’s training needs.
  • Required to perform any other duties which may be required from time to time by the Department Manager or managing director
