Registered Electrical Engineer/Technologist - EL-PE-CT

Lukhozi Consulting Engineers is currently seeking a Registered Electrical Engineer or Technologist to join our Cape Town, East London or Port Elizabeth office.

The successful candidate will receive a market-related salary determined from qualifications and experience. Interested applicants are required to submit a CV including details of their relevant experience.

• Conduct scoping and condition assessments, followed by detailed reporting.
• Oversee planning, design, and construction projects from inception to completion for building services and civil engineering assignments.
• Lead a team of electrical resources, scheduling and ensuring project deadlines are met.
• Prepare tender documents for various projects.
• Compile and deliver comprehensive reports at all project stages:
  Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial status, and project close‑out.
• Manage day‑to‑day administration associated with ongoing projects.
• Take responsibility for design of electrical building services, urban and rural reticulation and distribution systems, and electrical elements of projects.
• Administer electrical engineering contracts, acting as the Engineer as defined by the contract terms.
• Provide construction oversight, ensuring quality control and facilitating clarification of design‑related issues.
• Monitor construction progress to guarantee design adherence and quality, expediting design clarifications as needed.
• Address technical queries, resolve issues, lead site and technical meetings, and prepare meeting minutes.
• Review contractors’ Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements to ensure compliance and quality.
• Prepare payment valuations and measure electrical and electronic installations.
• Maintain frequent communication with all project professionals and clients.
  
  Assist in resolving technical queries and disputes in collaboration with other stakeholders.
• Support project safety and environmental compliance throughout the construction phase.
• Take responsibility for business development activities for the electrical engineering team.
• Undertake general office and project‑related administrative tasks as required.

• Hold at least a
  
  B.Eng,
  
  B.Sc(Eng), or
  
  B.Tech Eng. Degree in electrical engineering.
• Be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (PrTech Eng), with 5‑15 years of post‑registration experience.
• Have 10‑20 years of post‑graduate experience.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and management of building services projects and engineering projects.
• Experience with municipal building service projects, including electrical, electronic, solar photovoltaic, and fire detection systems.
• Proven experience in urban and rural reticulation and distribution projects.
• Background in Health, Education, and Public Works projects.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, particularly BIM
  360, ACC Docs, ACC Build, and ACC Collaborate Pro, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Relux lighting design is required; experience with Dialux is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Autocad is required; experience with Revit MEP is advantageous.
• Possess own transport and a valid driver’s license.
