Job Purpose: To take responsibility for installing and maintaining solar PV systems on rooftops, ensuring the highest level of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Rooftop Solar Panel Installer will report to the Solar Project Manager and will work closely with a team of professionals to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditionsMeasure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar PV panelsInstall solar modules, panels, and support structures according to building codes and standardsConnect PV panels to the electrical systemApply weather sealant to equipment being installedActivate and test PV systemsPerform routine PV system maintenanceKnowledge and
Skills:
Proven experience in solar PV installation and maintenanceExcellent knowledge of electrical and mechanical systemsProficient with hand tools and power tools, including drills, wrenches, saws, and screwdriversAbility to read and interpret blueprints and diagramsStrong attention to detail and safety protocolsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsQualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualificationRequirements:
South African citizenValid driver’s licenseMedically fit and ability to handle heights and weightsWorking at heights trainingKey
