Professional Officer - Content Development
- Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably a diploma, national diploma or degree in Copywriting, English Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, Internal Communications, Communications or similar. 2–5 years relevant experience working with written content, content research, copy writing, copy editing etc. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and/or basic Digital Marketing principles advantageous. Driver’s License and own vehicle.
- Developing printed (e.g. leaflets, booklets, posters) and written multimedia content (e.g. video scripts, info graphic content, radio scripts, etc.) for Water and Sanitation communication tools, in collaboration with other relevant branches/ sections, aligned with Corporate Communications guidelines, and approved by the Corporate Communications Department.
- Liaison for the various stages of production, including inputs from relevant City colleagues (in collaboration with branch colleagues) and approval processes related to final drafts and production (e.g. print approvals) as well as production procurement (quantity, delivery, and dissemination).
- Provide copy writing and editing service for internal and external communications materials developed within the branch and/or in collaboration with other Directorates, Service Providers and Corporate Communications Dept.
- Co-ordination of electronic messages, content and notifications (including service impacts, e.g. water disruptions and road reinstatements) to keep Water & Sanitation staff and residents informed.
- Co-ordination of the internal communications service, in the form of a staff newsletter and leadership communications to ensure alignment of messaging and clear identity for the internal communications component of the Communications and Partnerships Branch.
