We have a sterling, fully on-site opportunity for a junior to mid-weight Marketing Copywriter to join the in-house studio at one of South Africa’s most legendary gaming, and entertainment brands based in Cape Town’s CBD. As Marketing Copywriter, you will be writing long form and short form, punchy copy – mainly Digital with some Traditional Copywriting in the mix.

Responsibilities
Produce general copywriting to support designs and marketing content including:
- Promotional content: gaming promotions, events, advert banners, accommodation special offers, experience special offers and wine and dine special offers;
Promotional copy for emailers;
Promotional and enticing copy for advertising campaignsDevelop, create, and deploy content across multi-touch point communications.Schedules and updates relevant content on various platforms ensuring that content remains innovative and fresh.Collaborate with graphic designers to receive and prioritise briefs and promotional requests and business; and deliver each element of the campaign to briefMaintain up to date knowledge of current and future content within and external to the organisationUnderstand market segment and customers characteristics and online preferencesDevelop plans for generating meaningful content to drive increased traffic, engagement, and brand visibility in line with business requirements.Conceptualise and plan for content storylines on various communication channelsConstruct the conceptual plan, concept, storyline, and layout for solutions, ensuring content remains fresh and excitingLiaise with business with regard to concepts, ideas, deadlines, and promotional requirementsBrainstorm, design and deliver content in written formBrief, manage, craft, and monitor all elements of every project from presentation through to completion.Brief electronic, print and activation production to ensure the idea is executed and delivered to its best potential.Brief and give constructive input during a shoot and/or recording and direct voices, VO artists, musicians, directors to ensure that the idea is delivered in its best form.Correspond with stakeholders and clients to obtain feedback and approvals on final contentBe an ideas bank of new innovation and concepts to be used as a foundation for content for various online channels in line with business requirementsParticipates in content meetings, creative briefings, brainstorm sessions and status meetings.Provides updates and constructive feedback to Creative Management on all significant developments on ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and timeous delivery.Sources relevant images.Works with the design team to ensure that the copy and design work together seamlessly.Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be
3 Year Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing, Communication, English or JournalismCopywriting certification3-5 years’ experience working as a copywriter across a range of communication platformsA proven track record of success producing digital contentExcellent copywriting and writing skills adaptable in the tone of each brandAbility to write, proofread and edit accurate, concise, and highly readable contentUnderstand brand identityAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsAbility to generate creative ideas, coupled with sound editorial judgementMS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Exposure/knowledge of the hotel and gaming industry is a strong advantageDynamic presentation skillsEmbrace and understand diversityConceptualisingChecking (attention to detail)PlanningDecision-makingEvaluating & developing contentInfluencingResults orientationRelationship managementInnovation & continuous ImprovementCustomer service orientationAnalytical thinking & conceptual abilitySelling skillsEmotional resilienceExcellent organisational skills with the ability to operate on a wide range of topics and projects at one timeProactive, energetic, and professional team playerWilling to be hands on in some areas of implementation especially when it comes to quality reviewMay be required to work extended hours.Please submit a relevant portfolio along with your CV on application.
