Job Title: Photographer & Videographer
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Salary Range: R25,000 R40,000 per month (CTC), negotiable based on portfolio and experience

Role Overview

An innovative design and retail brand is seeking a highly skilled and creative Photographer & Videographer to lead the visual storytelling of its products, brand campaigns, and content across digital, eCommerce, and social platforms. This is a hands-on studio and location-based role, ideal for a candidate passionate about capturing beautiful, functional design in still and motion formats.

Key Responsibilities

Photography

• Capture high-quality product photography for eCommerce, catalogues, packaging, and digital campaigns.
• Style and shoot lifestyle images that align with the brands aesthetic and visual identity.
• Manage lighting, composition, and post-production edits (retouching, colour correction, etc.).
• Maintain and update a consistent image library for internal and external use.

Videography

• Plan, storyboard, film, and edit compelling videos for product launches, behind-the-scenes, brand stories, and tutorials.
• Produce content for social media (Reels, Tik Toks, You Tube, etc.), advertising, and in-store screens.
• Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to produce video content that aligns with campaign objectives and brand messaging.
• Perform all aspects of video editing including cutting, colour grading, sound editing, and motion graphics.
• Ensure consistency in tone, pacing, and brand voice across all outputs.
• Organise and archive digital assets with clear naming conventions and metadata tagging.
• Set up and manage shoots in an in-house studio or on location.
• Maintain camera, lighting, audio, and editing equipment.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and software innovations to bring fresh ideas to the table.

Requirements

• Relevant Diploma or Degree in Photography, Film, Multimedia Design, or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in commercial product photography and videography, ideally within retail, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite:
  Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects (bonus: Illustrator).
• Skilled in lighting setups (studio and natural), colour grading, sound syncing, and retouching.
• Strong portfolio showcasing product, lifestyle, and video work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualities

• Passion for homeware, fashion, design, or luxury consumer goods.
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and digital asset standards.
• Storytelling mindset with an eye for detail, composition, and branding.
• Self-starter with a collaborative attitude and excellent time management skills.
