Supply Chain / Intl. Trade, Operations Manager
As a Construction Buyer, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for construction materials, subcontractors, and services. This role suits someone organised, detail-focused, and confident in negotiating with suppliers. You’ll ensure that purchases are cost-effective, delivered on time, and meet required quality standards while collaborating with project managers, site teams, and quantity surveyors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
Process purchase requisitions efficiently and anticipate material requirements to prevent project delays.
Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
Negotiate prices, discounts, and favourable payment terms, while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure all procured goods and services meet specifications, contractual obligations, and compliance requirements.
Prepare, review, and manage supplier contracts to mitigate risks and maintain accurate documentation.
Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and procurement spend to support informed decision-making.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand, plan procurement activities, and resolve challenges.
Requirements:
Grade 12; certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management preferred.
3–5 years’ experience in procurement, ideally within construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and procurement-related software.
Knowledge of contract management, compliance, and market trends.
