job purposeassist in processing and handling documents, retrieval, archiving and record management systems.
qualifications and experience- diploma or degree in archives and records management, library and information science or equivalent qualification
- at least 3 years’ proven experience in information, document, records or heritage management.
- relevant experience in a higher education environment will be an added advantage.
- collect, process, provide access and retrieve records.
- team/department support.
- disposal of documents as per the disposal policy.
- supports the records officer in conducting training for cput staff members on all aspects of the use of the records management system.
- reviews documents for content and, under guidance of the records officer, assigns document classifications and reference numbers.
- ability to adapt to changing environment.
- written and verbal communication.
- managing work (including time management).
- professional/technical knowledge.
