Chartered Accountant / Financial Controller (Quick Books)
Contract Duration: 3–6 Months (Potential for Ongoing Engagement)

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chartered Accountant or experienced Financial Controller to assist with a short-term accounting project focused on cleaning up prior-period financial records. This role requires a strong technical understanding of balance sheets, journal entries, and financial reporting, along with solid hands-on experience using Quick Books.

The successful candidate will initially support a 3–6 month clean-up project. If the engagement proves successful, there is strong potential for ongoing Financial Controller–level work supporting the business on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and clean up historical financial records in Quick Books

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies

• Prepare and post complex journal entries and adjustments

• Ensure prior period records are accurate and aligned with accounting standards

• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other key accounts

• Review general ledger activity and correct misclassifications

• Assist with the preparation of accurate financial statements

• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management

• Support the transition of financial records into a well-structured, reliable reporting system

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA or experienced Financial Controller

• Strong hands-on experience with Quick Books

• Excellent understanding of balance sheets, reconciliations, and journal entries

• Proven experience cleaning up or restructuring accounting records

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the clean-up process

• Strong communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with financial clean-up or catch-up accounting projects

• Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses

• Financial reporting and controller-level responsibilities

Engagement Details
