About the role

A growing, commercially driven business is seeking a Senior Accountant (SAIPA) to take ownership of core accounting functions and support financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

This role is suited to a technically strong accountant who is ready to step into greater responsibility, partner with operational teams, and contribute to financial decision-making as the business continues to scale.

The Role

You will manage key accounting processes end-to-end, support reporting and planning, and play a central role in ensuring financial accuracy, control, and efficiency across the business.

You’ll work closely with management and operational teams, while also supporting junior staff and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with cash flow management and working capital tracking

Accounting & Controls

- Maintain general ledger integrity and reconciliations
- Review journals, accruals, and month-end processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and audit readiness

Operational Finance

- Partner with operational teams to improve financial processes
- Support cost tracking, margin analysis, and performance reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements

Team & Stakeholder Support

- Mentor and support junior accounting staff
- Liaise with auditors, tax practitioners, and external advisors
- Support management with financial insight and decision-making

Requirements

Qualifications

- SAIPA qualified or currently completing SAIPA
- Relevant degree in Accounting / Finance

Experience

- 4–7 years’ accounting experience
- Strong exposure to management accounts and reporting
- Experience in a commercial environment preferred
- Experience mentoring or reviewing junior staff advantageous

Skills

- Strong technical accounting ability
- Commercial mindset and problem-solving orientation
- High attention to detail and ownership mentality
- Ability to manage deadlines independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems

Remuneration
