Bookkeeper

Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team based in N1 City, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ bookkeeping experience and hold a relevant Degree or Diploma. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong numerical accuracy and the ability to manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.

• Perform the full bookkeeping function, up to trial balance
• Process and reconcile creditors and debtors
• Capture and reconcile bank transactions
• Prepare and submit VAT returns (if applicable)
• Manage petty cash and general ledger entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Process payroll, if applicable (advantageous)
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and reconciliations
• Experience working on accounting software (e.g., SAP, Pastel, Xero, or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
