We are seeking a highly accurate, hands-on Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting across a group of companies, including operational branches within Africa
.

This is a key on-site role responsible for maintaining the integrity of the accounting records, overseeing reconciliations, and supporting month-end and statutory reporting within a multi-entity environment.

• Own day-to-day accounting activities across multiple group entities
• Perform detailed bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
• Review accounts payable processing and outputs
• Supervise and review work completed by the Assistant Accountant

• Own the accounts receivable function across the group
• Oversee customer invoicing and AR processes
• Review and manage allocation of customer receipts
• Supervise and review payment matching performed by the Assistant Accountant
• Manage overdue balances and support credit control activities
• Ensure AR control accounts are accurate and fully reconciled

• Prepare month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Assist with preparation of management accounts
• Prepare or review VAT and other statutory returns (where applicable)

• Manage intercompany transactions and balances
• Assist with clearing intercompany and other control accounts
• Support accounting for foreign currencies and cross-border transactions

• Maintain strong documentation and audit trails
• Support audits and external advisors
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function
• A detail-driven accountant who takes ownership
• Someone comfortable being hands-on while supervising others
• High standards for accuracy, documentation, and controls
• A reliable team player who works well in an on-site environment

A degree qualified in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)

• Strong hands-on accounting background in a similar role
• Proven experience with accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable supervising and reviewing junior staff
• Confident working on-site in a growing, multi-entity environment
• Strong Excel and accounting system skills

• Experience working within a group or multi-entity structure
• Exposure to African operations, jurisdictions, or currencies
• Experience with intercompany accounting and foreign exchange
• Prior involvement in audits or statutory reporting
