This Cape Town-based accounting practice offers a full suite of financial, tax, and advisory services to a loyal client base. Known for its technical depth and hands‑on support, the firm provides a professional environment where accountants can grow their expertise and manage their own portfolios with autonomy and accountability.

As the Accountant, you will be responsible for independently managing a portfolio of clients across accounting, payroll, VAT, and tax services. You will ensure compliance with South African regulations while delivering accurate and timely submissions. This is a client-facing role requiring a high degree of organisation, professionalism, and technical competency.

• Manage a portfolio of accounting clients independently
• Maintain accurate client accounting records and perform reconciliations
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
• Handle monthly payroll processing for multiple clients
• Prepare year-end files and draft financial statements
• Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC, and other statutory bodies
• Liaise directly with clients on technical queries and submission deadlines
• Stay updated with changes in tax and labour legislation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, managing multiple clients
• Strong knowledge of South African tax and labour laws
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and deadline management
• Comfortable working independently and handling client communication
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
